It is an automated system for the exchange of information and electronic data relating to passengers travelling to Spain on routes from outside the Schengen area.

Spanish legislation (Organic Law 14/2003) establishes the power of the Spanish authorities to oblige airlines, transport companies and carriers (air or sea) to submit to the authorities in charge of entry control the information of all passengers entering Spanish territory from countries outside the Schengen area, either in transit or as a final destination.

The imposition of this obligation on carriers, with regard to routes where, due to the intensity of migratory flows or the global nature of some of the threats affecting security, as well as the current mobility in international transport, makes it necessary to adopt this measure to facilitate the fight against illegal immigration and ensure public safety.

It offers transport companies the possibility of sending files with passenger data through the application itself, either by uploading the complete file or generating it by entering individual data. Click here.

It offers transport companies the possibility of consulting the status of the files sent and received by the APIS System in a valid and invalid form, as well as the quality of the data provided, so that they can take the appropriate measures to ensure that such data contains a quality that meets the needs of the State Security Forces and Corps.
